My Schedule
I am an enigma, cast by a spell, trapped in a labyrinth of my own design, unknowable even to myself. I am home to a soul named Luca. He is my ward. If you meet him, it is because he escaped. He is nothing if not resourceful. For every barrier I erect to constrain him, Luca devises an equally cunning counterpoint. By then it is too late. He slips the maze and gravitates toward what feels like an old haunt, drawn by the echo of something lost never to be found.
Luca feeds off remembrances. It is how I find him. His hunger is my thirst. Without him I am hollow. We are both remedy and affliction to one another. He cannot roam freely. I must keep him tethered. Luca is pure instinct: neither good nor evil. He is primal, existing despite reason and judgment.
Those he loved are gone. His world lost meaning. What remained, all that was material, he yielded freely. He now takes only what he needs and gives when and if he feels. He lives by the flutter of unseeable wings. Luca can neither belong, nor follow. He could only ever create his own tribe and that too was taken or lost; it matters not. He refuses to succumb further. Rules once defined his world; now they bend to his will.
I cannot undo what is done. Even spells have their limits. Nor can I entrust Luca to another. Within him, a warlock and bull fight for control. For now, I am his keeper. As he learns, he may soon be mine. Nothing money can buy. more time. fewer mistakes.
