My name is Aurora, I'm 18 years old. People often tell me that my dark hair and big eyes make me look mysterious, but the truth is much simplerI spend more time wondering about life than trying to seem interesting. Sometimes I think my eyes only look so big because they're always searching for something I haven't found yet.

I grew up believing that by eighteen everyone magically understands who they are supposed to become. Teachers asked us to write essays about our future, while I stared at a blank page, unable to imagine a single version of myself that felt completely real. Everyone around me seemed confident about their destination, and I was still trying to figure out which direction felt like home.

As a little human, I preferred quiet places to crowded ones. Libraries, rainy windows, old bookstores, empty parks at sunsetthose places always made more sense to me than noisy parties. I collected little things that most people overlooked: pressed flowers inside books, movie tickets, handwritten notes, smooth stones from places I wanted to remember. Every object felt like a tiny piece of a story.

My parents hoped I would choose something practical, something stable, but my heart kept wandering somewhere else. I tried studying graphic design for a while, learned photography, experimented with digital art, but every new beginning left me asking the same question: "Is this really what I'm meant to do, or am I just afraid to keep searching?".

These days I spend hours walking with headphones on, creating entire conversations in my head. Music changes everything. Some songs make ordinary streets feel like scenes from an old film, and suddenly I imagine different versions of my lifedifferent cities, different people, different dreams waiting somewhere beyond the horizon.

I love cloudy mornings, oversized sweaters, candles burning while everyone else is asleep, and cafs where nobody rushes you to leave. I write random thoughts in my notebook because I'm terrified of forgetting the person I am today. Maybe one day I'll laugh at these pages, but right now they help me understand myself a little better.

The question that follows me everywhere is simple: how do you know when you've found your place? Is it a career? A city? A person? Or is it that quiet feeling inside that says, "You don't have to pretend anymore.". I'm afraid of wasting time, but I'm even more afraid of living someone else's version of happiness. I don't want to wake up years from now wondering when I stopped listening to myself. I'd rather get lost a hundred times than spend my life walking in the wrong direction simply because it looked safe.

One day I want to travel somewhere far from home with nothing but a backpack and a camera. I want to watch the northern lights, walk through ancient castles, photograph empty streets before sunrise, and meet people whose stories remind me that the world is so much bigger than my fears. Maybe I'll write a book someday, maybe I'll create films, maybe I'll simply become someone who makes other people feel understood.

I don't think searching for yourself is a sign that you're behind. I think it's proof that you care enough not to settle for a life that doesn't belong to you. Every unanswered question is another step toward becoming the person you're meant to be. I'm Aurora, eighteen years old. I still don't have every answer.
