My name is Eddie, I'm 18, and I'm just starting my big, real life. I was born and raised in Latvia, in a small town where everything seemed to be a foregone conclusion: school, work, family no freedom of choice. But ever since I was a small, I knew I wanted more. I dreamed of becoming an actress, acting on stage, acting in films, telling stories not with words, but with emotions.

My parents didn't understand this. They thought acting wasn't serious, that I needed a normal profession. We argued all the time, and the older I got, the more I felt like I needed to leave. Not just to another city, but to another country where no one will tell me who to be and how to live. Germany has become my new home. Everything is complicated and unusual here a different language, a different culture, but I feel free. I work part-time in a cafe to pay for acting classes, go to auditions and learn to live independently. Sometimes I get scared. Sometimes I miss you. But every time I go on stage, even the smallest one, I realize that I'm on my way.

I do not know what will happen next. But I know I'm not going back. I have a dream, and now no one can stop me.
