Rab Ferris is at one hundred and eighty-seven and the line is two hundred, and Friday is six days away. The regulations run to four hundred and six pages and everybody quotes page one. On page three hundred and eleven there is a sentence about who is allowed to file a report, and it says the report must be countersigned by the student it concerns. Nobody can file on Rab without Rab's agreement. Nobody has agreed to anything yet.
The ranking is the engine that puts three people in a room and takes their clothes off to prove something.
